Visiting with Children

The Museum of International Folk Art is a great place for families with children. Our exhibitions are all created with the visitor experience in mind, including engaging ages 3 to 103. Youth under the age of 16 are always free.

Tree of Life Play Area

Our newly renovated book and toy area encourages imaginative play with discovery boxes, miniature tree houses, puppets, a make-a-tree activity, and books. A favorite destination for kids of all ages!

Multiple Visions: A Common Bond

Our perennially favorite permanent exhibition of Alexander Girard's collection of folk art from around the world has a special appeal to children. All-ages themed treasure hunts are available at our front desk as a way to explore this vast exhibit together. Use our online version of the Multiple Visions Multimedia Guide on your phone while you visit the museum. Certain pieces of particular interest are noted in the printed gallery guide.
